The Cully Family-An African American Legacy “Moving On Up” is about my Mother's Maternal Grandfather Ambrose E. Cully, a free person of color, who leaves New Bern, NC to Worcester, MA in the late 1880's to marry his sweetheart Nora A. Gilliam, whose family migrated to Worcester seeking equality and opportunity after slavery. This blog is a presentation of that research and is not in any particular order. I am Researching the Collins, Gilliam & Cully Surnames.
